Anyway, pleasure for me to be here. How many of you have never seen me before, it’s your first time? Oh wow most of you. I keep thinking I’m more famous than that, but ahhh I guess that it is the truth. Anyway, nice to see all of you. It’s gonna be a good day today, we’re gonna take a couple of brakes along the way so you don’t have to sit all the way through without stopping here. Somebody once said “the mind can only absorb what they seat can endure”. I think that’s true so we won’t make you endure too long before we take a little stretch break here.

Do we have any teenagers? We invite the kids to come. Where are you? Teenagers or younger… All right. Let’s give’em a hand. Welcome. Nice to see all of you…My favorite audience . I got a good story for you. Two little boys in a school, one was very bright, the other one wasn’t very bright. Teacher gave a test one day – ten questions – and she’s looking at the two papers and, to her surprise, the little boy who was not very bright had answered nine of the ten questions perfect. And she thought: “well, that can’t be right”. So, she looked at the other paper… the little boy who was very bright, he had answered nine of ten questions perfect and the teacher thought: “Hey… something is wrong here.” Sure not the problem was the answers to tenth question. The little boy who was very bright… he got to the tenth question he didn’t know the answer… he was running out of time so he just wrote down I don’t know the answer to this one and turned his paper in. Teacher looked at the other paper… the little boy who wasn’t too bright… and he answered the tenth question: “I don’t know either” and ahh turned his in. Which I guess means don’t cheat, right? It never seems to work out well.

Anyway, we are gonna get started here. This is a work section, OK? I’ve not come to entertain you as you can tell by my opening joke here. I wouldn’t make it in Las Vegas so no dog and pony show* here today, but I’ve got some serious ideas to share with you and I wanna get right to it. But just very briefly for you that are here for the first time. I grew up in Idaho, little small price levitra village in the southwest corner of Idaho. My father still lives in this little farm community where I grew up on the own homestead. And he’ll be ninetieth his next birthday and he still hasn’t retired. I’m trying to get him to retire this year. I’m saying “hey Pappa, age 89! What a great year to retire!” And he is still saying “hey, talk to me in 10 years.. right? I may be ready” Ahh he’s amazing.

But anyway, I went to high school, graduated, went to college one year, halfway through my second year… I decided I was smart enough so I quit. A major mistake on my part. I should have stayed in school, but I thought, you know, here I come smart enough to get a job. And at the time I thought, you know, that’s about all the smarter you need to be, right? Smart enough to get a job. So age 19, I quit school went to work and, you know, my parents taught me to work hard, so that was no problem and, you know, if you work hard and keep your fingers crossed, stay outta trouble, pay your bills on time, do your best, hope for the future, that’s about it. And I proceeded to go do that.

A little while later, I met a beautiful young lady, put probably my finest sale presentation on her, I promised to her wealth and fame and fortune and world travels for starters. I said “it would probably be your life’s finest decision to marry me” and she bought the whole story, fortunately, for me she did. So we got married and now I’ve got my little family started pretty soon and out there doing the best I thought I could. But year by year I’m falling a little further behind, you Know, purchasing a little more than I conveniently pay for on time and about age 25, I am now really in the hole, right? Creditors are starting to call saying ‘Hey you told us the check was in the mail and I’m dancing around on that. I got pennies* in my pocket, I got nothing in the bank and I’m wondering where do I go from here. You know, I’m… I’m a nice guy and I love my family and I certainly willing to work hard, but I was just not making progress. And I thought “well maybe I should go back to school”, one year of college, right, is a little short on an application. But with a family, right, tough decision to make: go back the school, when you got your family started. So hey the best time to stay in the school, right, is when you’re there, going back usually doesn’t work. So I stared a discount on that. Then I thought, you know, if I had my own business, that would really do it, but, you know, I didn’t have the money. Too much month at the end of the money, that’s where I was ,right, age of 25. So in this pondering, wondering, what can I do to make my life better? Willing to work hard, but hadn’t found the answer.

This post starts a series of posts that intends to present a full transcription of Jim Rohn’s program “The Challenge to Succeed”. There are a total of 49 tracks, plus the introduction track. All tracks have been transcribed by my students, under my supervision. This is the introduction track transcript. The introduction track is called “Welcome”.

Should you spot any errors, please leave a comment and let me know of it. I really appreciate that.

Enjoy.

Edu

It is a challenge to succeed if it were not, I’m sure more people would be successful but for every person who is enjoying the fruit from the tree of success a thousand are examining the roots. They’re trying to figure it all out. They are mystified and perplex by what seems to be some strange, complex and illusive secret that must be found if ever success is to be enjoyed. While most people spend most of their lives struggling to earn a living a much smaller number seem to have everything going their way. Instead of just earning a living, a smaller group is busily engaged in designing and enjoying a fortune. Everything just seems to work out for them. While the much larger group sits in awe at how life can be so unfair, complicated and unjust.

“I’m a nice person”, the man says to himself “how come this other guy is happy and prosperous and I’m always struggling?” He asks himself: “I’m a good husband, a good father and a good worker, how come nothing seems to work out for me? Life just isn’t fair. ”I’m even smarter and willing to work harder than some of these other people who just seem to have everything going their way” he says, as he slumps onto the sofa to watch another evening of television.

But, you see, you’ve got to be more than a good person and a good worker. You’ve got to become a good planner and a good dreamer. You’ve got to see the future finished in advance, you’ve got to put in the long hours and put up with the set backs and the disappointments. You’ve got to learn to enjoy the process of disciplines and of putting yourself through the paces of doing the uncomfortable until it becomes comfortable. You’ve got to be prepared and willing to attack the challenges if you want the success because challenges are part of success.

Now, that may sound like a full menu of your activities, but let me assure you that the process of going from average to fortune isn’t really all that difficult. Thinking about it is the difficult part. Anticipating all the effort and the changes, and the disciplines is far worse in the mind than in the reality. I can promise you that the challenges you’ll meet on the road to success are far less difficult to deal with than the struggles and the disappointments that’d come from being average. Confronting and overcoming challenges is an accelerating experiences. It does something to feed the soul and the mind. It makes you more than you were before. It strengthens the mental muscles and enables you to become better prepared for the next challenge.

Now, let’s assume that you are one of those who is willing to tackle the challenges. That you really do want to know about the process for going from average to fortune and if you’re determined to make the journey so that you can experience the rewards. What do you do? Where do you start? What are the changes you have to make and the disciplines you’ll have to master? These are the questions I often hear from those who want to do well but aren’t. And it is in response to the many inquiries I receive from those who want to enjoy the good life that I have taken the time to prepare this library of ideas and insights that we now call “The challenge to succeed”. Actually, I didn’t really prepare this program that you’re about to listen to. It evolved. It is a volume of the very best concepts that I’ve managed to assemble over the years, as I’ve traveled world teaching ideas that count to people who care.

It isn’t the complex, mystical technique that would require you to undergo some strange form of mental transformation, it’s merely a set of basic principles levitra cost that will you get started on a journey that can be life changing. I’ve learned over the years that about a half dozen things makes about eighty percent of the difference in how your life turns out. And this program will address those simple but necessary basics that will start for you what I like to call the miracle process. All you’ve got to do is listen and absorb the ideas that I’ll share with you. Then, once you’ve got the ideas, your new appetite for success and your new confidence in yourself will start you on that unique journey. It is a journey that will lead you a long path that you’ve always wanted to travel but you could never find amid a maze of highways filled to capacity by those who are hopelessly lost and confused.

The hours that we’ll spend together examining these special insights will start a whole new process for you. And if you will start applying the ideas we’ll share, I can promise you that your life will never be the same again. You don’t ever have to remain how and what you are after today, except by your own choice. The seeds of high achievements are about to be placed in the soil of your mind then with the magic of your own activity the practice of these basic ideas will start you the growing process. Soon, you’ll enjoy the full harvest rewards that comes for applying these simple basics. The challenges to success will go into full retreat as you begin to see just how simple success really is and you’ll be fascinated by the results you’ll soon begin to enjoy.

I want congratulate you for making this investment in yourself. We live in age, when so many tend to spend more money on the outside of their head than they do on the inside. That usually leads to tragic consequences with our lives slipping by without any real or lasting progress being made. To have more we must first become more and to become more we must begin the process of working harder on ourselves then we do anything else. Here is one of the more valuable discovers I’ve made on the subject of going from average to fortune. The achievements of success is found not just in gathering of new knowledge, the acquisition of new skills or in the accumulation of new experiences, it is also in the discovery of new emotions. It’s how we feel about what we know that makes the biggest difference in how our lives turn out. How we feel about the chances we have and the choices online pharmacy we have determines the intensity of our effort, weather we try or don’t try, join or don’t join, believe or don’t believe. So as you listen to the information in The challenge to Succeed seminar, I’d like for you to discover some strong feelings about your life and about you want to do with that life. You probably have much of the knowledge and a lot of experiences and, perhaps, most of the skills that it takes to become successful. What you’re maybe lacking in are the strong feelings about what you want and what you want to do. You may be one of those how have become so involved in the process of earning a living, that you’ve forgotten about the choices and the chances you have for designing your own life. So let the massage that follows touch you, let it help you discover the feelings that will make you take a second look at your life and where y ou’re headed. After all you’ve only got one life, but least on this planet, so why not make it an adventure in achievement. Why not discover what all you can do and what all you can have? Why not discover how many others you can help and in the process how that will help you? Now let’s get starting on a journey of ideas and insights that might very well be life changing for you. Let’s take a close look at The Challenges to Succeed and if what that might mean into your better future.
